A unique and unmatched area within the Eco-valley Programme is the ecological animal husbandry and dairy farming.Our animals feed off (pesticide free) meadows, in a special environment where the husbandry techniques used, first and foremost place special attention on the needs of animals. Due to these efforts we have the ability to note such events which in other places are unheard of: there is an opportunity to milk heifers. Our cows lactation cycle is also record breaking: there are cows which have been producing milk for the last 12 years straight, and the life expectancy of the animals are also breaking records as they have also increased. In normal agricultural circles it is also considered unique, that for draft operations we use yoked animals and for transportation, oxen, thus further reducing the need for machinery and the strain on our environment.
