One of the most vital and urgent environmental issues to be addressed is the lessening of fresh water supply. Therefore, for our future agricultural production and in order to ensure residential water use we must maintain both surface ground water adequately and use it in an ecological friendly way. During the past decade due to ecological management and considerate use of water supply, we have achieved that today within the boundaries of the 270-hectare land of the eco-village in Somogyvámos the ground-water is safe to drink. The high nitrate content of water that could be observed 15 years ago is history and water is safe to drink.
