There is no food shortage, so stop starvation!
One of the rare positive effects of foodstuffs’ price increase is that it has become a worldwide known fact how important food-production is, says Jose Graziano da Silva, Brazilian authority, FAO’s new director general who entered office a few weeks ago. He considers access to food and land utmost important, so that people have the facilities to buy or produce what they eat. “There is plenty of food, but a lot of people, especially the poor cannot afford it, as it is too expensive. A small step, but giant progress
According to a recent survey, if there were a meat-free day weekly, then that would enormously improve the environment. It turned out, if people in the USA would not eat meat and cheese for a day each week, in such a case that would have an impact on the environment similarly as if 7.6 million cars were withdrawn from circulation.

The Eco Valley Foundation is organizing a workshop in the field of sustainability, which is supported by the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme: Grundtvig for Adult Education Project.
The workshop entitled The Pillars of Sustainability – Developing Small Communities Aiming at Self-sustainability in Europe registered under number GR-WOR-2011-21 will take place between 9th and 16th October, 2011 in Somogyvámos, Hungary.

It does not disintegrate, it solely moulders: the “biologically degradable” bag is a deceit
The concept of all biologically degradable bags put into circulation in Hungary is based on trickery. These bags besides the regular plastic material contain catalysts due to which plastic chains fall apart a lot more rapidly, but there is not any organic degradation caused by microorganisms, states Sylvia Graczka, the communication manager of Humusz organization (Humusz Szövetség).
Participating in a Conference on Farming and Cow-protection in England
The conference was originally initiated by Krishna Valley, Hungary and from then on every year a different ISKCON farming community hosts this event.
The aim of this programme is to share experience and practical knowledge as well as ideas of beneficial projects. This year the Bhaktivedanta Manor, a place about 30 kilometres from London gave home to the program. It is a very special estate as George Harrison, the famous Beatles guitarist donated it to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1973, almost 40 years ago. There was reported that about nine devotees were arrested while chanting Hare Krishna outside the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. VIII. Winter Assembly of Hungarian Ecovillages (23-25 January)
There was the greatest interest ever shown on the Hungarian Ecovillage winter assembly this year. More than 140 attendants participated in Máriahalom.
